# Ethical public web data

Job postings are published to be found. JobsPipe collects the ones that are public, normalizes them into one schema and sends every reader back to the original posting. This page explains what we collect, how, and what we never do.

Last updated: September 24, 2026

## What public means

A page is public when anyone can read it without logging in, providing credentials, registering or paying. JobsPipe collects job postings from public pages only and does not collect non-public data.

## Where postings come from

Employer career sites, the public job boards that applicant tracking systems host for employers, public employment services and job boards. The [sources page](/sources) lists them. Names and logos identify those sites; they are trademarks of their owners, and JobsPipe is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them.

## How we collect

- We limit request rates per site and spread collection over the day.
- We deduplicate across sources and re-read a posting only to learn whether it changed or closed.
- Every record carries the URL of the original posting, so applicants apply at the source.
- We do not claim ownership of posting text; it belongs to the employer that published it.

If you run a site we collect from and want to talk about how we read it, write to [abuse@jobspipe.dev](mailto:abuse@jobspipe.dev). See [Report abuse](/trust/abuse) for what to include.

## What we never do

- Log in to any source, or create, buy or use accounts on it.
- Collect content that sits behind a login, registration or paywall.
- Collect member profiles, candidate profiles, applications or resumes.
- Combine people across sources into profiles, or sell contact lists.
- Sell access for uses our Acceptable Use Policy bans.

## People named in postings

Some employers name a recruiter or hiring manager in a posting. JobsPipe processes that under legitimate interest, keeps only what the posting itself shows, and does not add contact details from anywhere else. To have your name removed, email [privacy@jobspipe.dev](mailto:privacy@jobspipe.dev) with the posting or your name. We respond within 30 days and stop serving it; copies in backups expire on their normal schedule. The [Privacy Policy](/privacy) covers the rest of your rights.

## How customers may use the data

Every account agrees to our [Acceptable Use Policy](/acceptable-use). It allows job search, hiring signals, market research and similar uses, and bans surveillance of individuals, discrimination, spam, and reselling the data as a competing dataset. Customers are independent controllers of any personal data they receive and are responsible for their own use of it. We suspend accounts that break the policy; [How we review and monitor use](/trust/customer-review) explains how.
