Formed from the 2021 merger of Emsi and Burning Glass Technologies, it maintains the deepest normalized archive of job postings in the industry, publishes the most widely used open skills taxonomy, and sells analytics to three buyer groups almost nobody else serves at once: governments and workforce boards, universities, and enterprise talent teams.

People search for Lightcast alternatives for three distinct reasons, and they lead to different shortlists.
