How long do hiring freezes last?
There is no fixed length. A hiring freeze lasts until the condition that caused it changes: a missed quarter is revisited at the next review, a budget freeze runs to the next fiscal year, and a freeze pending an acquisition ends when the deal closes. Most end quietly, as the exception list grows to cover the roles that matter.
A freeze leaves a specific pattern in posting data. New requisitions stop appearing, so a query for postings JobsPipe first saw after the freeze date returns nothing, or only backfills and contract roles. Existing postings close without being replaced, and closed_reason shows them as removed rather than expired or replaced.
