Does LinkedIn have an API?

LinkedIn has APIs, but they are limited to approved partner programs: the Marketing API for advertising, the Talent Solutions APIs for applicant tracking and recruiting partners, and Sign In with LinkedIn for authentication. There is no public API for searching or exporting job postings, so developers who need LinkedIn job data use a third-party source built on the public listings.

Each official program is built for a specific partner relationship. The Marketing API lets approved advertising platforms manage campaigns and pages. The Talent Solutions APIs let approved applicant tracking systems post jobs to LinkedIn, sync applicants and read recruiter data for their mutual customers. Sign In with LinkedIn returns a member's basic profile after consent and is the only surface most developers can get without a partnership review. None of them lets an outside application search LinkedIn's job listings, read a company's open roles, or pull postings in bulk.

What is available is the public side of LinkedIn Jobs: the logged-out guest pages that anyone can open without an account. Reading those is how every LinkedIn jobs data product works, including JobsPipe. Postings are sighted on a schedule, parsed into one record shape and scored, so a LinkedIn listing arrives with the same fields as a Greenhouse or Workday one: job_title, company, date_posted, discovered_at, last_seen_at, status, ghost_score and min_annual_salary_usd when the posting states a range. No LinkedIn login, cookies or member data are involved.

To pull LinkedIn postings from JobsPipe, call the jobs search endpoint with source_or set to linkedin and any other filters, such as job_title_or, job_country_code_or or posted_at_max_age_days. The chart below shows the share of each collected board's active postings that state a salary: LinkedIn sits in the lower half, well behind Y Combinator, Ashby and Greenhouse, so min_salary_usd narrows LinkedIn results sharply. The free tier returns 1,000 jobs a month and the sandbox endpoint needs no key.

  • Y Combinator67.7%
  • Ashby56.1%
  • Greenhouse46.8%
  • Indeed36.8%

  • Lever22.7%

Is there a LinkedIn API?

Yes, several, all gated. LinkedIn runs partner programs for marketing, talent and learning integrations, plus Sign In with LinkedIn for authentication. Access beyond sign-in requires applying to a program and being approved for a stated use case. There is no self-serve key that returns job listings, profiles or company pages in bulk.

Does LinkedIn have API?

It does, but not the kind most people searching this question want. The APIs LinkedIn publishes serve approved partners that push data into LinkedIn or authenticate members. Reading job postings out of LinkedIn is not offered, which is why job data products read the public guest pages instead.

Can I get a LinkedIn API key for job postings?

Not from LinkedIn. The Talent Solutions program is for applicant tracking and recruiting vendors that post jobs and receive applicants on behalf of shared customers, and even those partners cannot search the whole job index. A JobsPipe key from the dashboard at jobspipe.dev/dashboard reads the public LinkedIn postings alongside nine other boards.

Is reading public LinkedIn job listings allowed?

Public, logged-out pages are the least risky surface. The hiQ v. LinkedIn litigation affirmed that accessing public pages does not violate US computer-fraud law, while LinkedIn's terms still prohibit automated access by logged-in members. JobsPipe reads only guest job listings, never profiles, and never logs in.
