# Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: September 24, 2026

## Why this policy exists

JobsPipe collects job postings that are public without a login. Public does not mean anything goes: the people named in postings and the sites that publish them are owed care. This policy is part of our [Terms of Service](/terms) and applies to the API, the MCP server, the CLI, the dashboard and any data you receive from them.

## What you may use JobsPipe for

- Job search, job boards and job alerts that send applicants to the original posting.
- Hiring signals and account research about companies, such as which teams a company is growing.
- Labour-market, salary and skills research, and academic or public-interest research.
- Recruiting, sourcing and HR tools that work with postings rather than with profiles of individuals.
- Training or evaluating models on posting content, where you do not reproduce postings in bulk.

## What you may not do

Zero tolerance applies to each of these:

- Breaking any law, including privacy, employment, anti-discrimination, consumer-protection and anti-spam law.
- Using the data as the basis for decisions about a person's eligibility for employment, credit, insurance or housing where the law regulates that use, unless you meet that law's requirements.
- Discriminating against candidates or employees on any protected characteristic.
- Monitoring, profiling or tracking individuals, or re-identifying anyone from the data.
- Building contact lists of people named in postings, or sending them unsolicited messages.
- Sending spam or other unsolicited bulk messages, whether or not the recipients come from JobsPipe data.
- Impersonating any person or organization, spoofing your identity, or misrepresenting who you are or what you are building.
- Creating fake accounts, or publishing fake job postings, reviews or other deceptive content.
- Reselling, sublicensing or redistributing the data in bulk, or as a dataset, feed or API that competes with JobsPipe.
- Presenting postings as your own, or removing the link to the original posting where you display one.
- Sharing API keys, creating multiple free accounts, or circumventing quotas, rate limits or authentication.
- Attacking, probing or overloading JobsPipe or any source site.

## Your responsibilities

You are an independent controller of any personal data you receive from JobsPipe. You decide your own lawful basis, give any notices the law requires, honour requests from the people concerned, and delete data you no longer need. When someone asks us to remove their data, we may ask you to remove it too.

## Enforcement

We review accounts whose use looks inconsistent with this policy and may ask what you are building. We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks this policy, without refund where the breach is serious or repeated.

## Report misuse

To report misuse of JobsPipe data or accounts, email [abuse@jobspipe.dev](mailto:abuse@jobspipe.dev). The [Report abuse](/trust/abuse) page says what to include; we acknowledge every complete report within one business day. For how we collect postings, see the [Trust Center](/trust).
